Update: I enabled any number of PMs.

Yes it is due to the auto responses on the games.  They are sent as PM's so the system must have thought I had sent 7 today, due to the chess game.

I am unsure of that as I have had way more than that in a two hour period and I never got any message.  Almost all of my PMs come from the chess games.
