Open Question: Which x360 game should I buy?

Ok so I've got my birthday coming up, and I thought I would treat myself to a game of my choice. Typically, I only get one game per 3 or 4 months, since I am studying and working part time.

My problem here is that I cannot decide between two games I have had my eyes on.

I am looking at either The Saboteur, or Mass Effect 2. For Xbox 360.

I am a fan of wwii games, I do have most of them already. I like the look of The Saboteur, but in my mind I feel like maybe the game is actually more linear than I expect. I'm meaning that perhaps, apart from the main missions, the side missions are all basically the same two or three tasks done over and over, and that even though you can roam freely, there is not that much to do. I hear the action boils down to you basically running in circles shooting large waves of nazi's one after the other whilst you absorb billions of bullets. Perhaps I'm making an unfair assumption. I hear people talk about it like it's Assassins Creed 2 with guns, but I can't help thinking it wont be at the level of length or content that AC2 is praised for.

on the other hand:

Mass Effect 2 looks like a strong rpg shooter with at least a decent length to the playing time. Visually it looks interesting. I am not a big fan of sci-fi. But I do not dislike scifi in the least. I do not own any of the Halo games, even though I have played them. I like the idea of rpg elements mixed with good shooting mechanics (Saboteur also has this). I don't know how best to explain other than laser weapons and special powers don't always do it for me. I admit the game looks visually stunning, and I am hoping that it offers a lengthy playing experience.

So I am divided. I would love for your input and opinions. If you have played one, or even both, then by all means recount your enjoyment or dissatisfaction with either game.
