Who is your favorite Chess Grandmaster?

I have never studied them. I just see them as beyond me. I used to look at various openings in books but have long forgotten them and their names.

The problem is that the world championship stays with just a few players for many years.
Antoly Karpov was in the top spot for over a decade untill he was beaten by the current master, and in my opinion the brilliant Garry Kasparov.
An Englishman held the title for a short while - Nigiel Short, but the title spot is dominated by the Russians and Eastern Europeans.   Kasparov is known as the "Beast of Baku".

Sounds like you keep yourself abreast with them, should I be worried?

Not really, I havent played a serious game for many years.
I volunteered for my work tournament last month, I've done well enough to get through to the regional finals but I am very much the underdog.

Wow, I can't remember when last I played in a tournament. Maybe we should organize one for here: GrandMaster of text-rpg.com.

I would definitely support a chess tournament, mabe we could all play eachother in a round-robin.
The most wins could give an outright winner or a few players left in a knockout finale.
