Runescape has to be one of the most annoying games of all time. They keep on adding skills and everything, I quit long ago because I knew how annoying and stupid It was one day, But you have to admit, with all those paying members. They have to be some good. Why? That is because they are the King of Browser mmorpg games. Have you seen another runescape? That massive? Without requirements to download? Haven't seen one yet.
What do you think of Runescape?

I like runescape and play it regularly. I have met a few people there that I have become friends with. I am slowly gaining levels and it is fun to just sit and chop trees while chating with friends.

Runescape. . . what can anyone say about runescape, other than it is the epitome of adolescence.
I entered the world a while back, and I found it to be the most chaotic realm I would ever experience. It was as if someone had filled an elementary school with weapons, locked the doors, and the teachers left for the day. It was Lord of the Flies, personified! When I had mentioned to one of the players, that the world was very similar to the concept of 'Lord of the Flies', the person grunted and killed me. Stepping out of the situation one can laugh, but as I am also an educator, I couldn't help but attempt to rationalize the bedlam before me.
Runescape was inappropriately named, it should be called Maelstrom.
If anyone would care to learn how to create a good role playing game by learning from the mistakes of others they need only spend a few minutes in Runescape and attempt to have a conversation or two, if they get that far. You can honestly write a thesis about the adolescent mind using the game as your main topic.

I agree with you on that Runescape for me is a no go. Got in tried it for a few days just to be fair but tired quickly of the adolescents. I think Klar is right though if you are looking to socialize as apposed to rp it might be ok.

I become a little vehement when I hear the word, 'Runescape'. I definitely went into my expectations far too high. The game itself is coded well and has just about everything to develop a great role playing atmosphere, but alas, something went awry along the way. I attribute the chaos to poor moderation.
I suppose if you are strong enough and have developed a social group you can have some fun.
Each to there own I guess.

You got killed right away then you were on a player vs player world. There are some worlds where you take your time and explore all that runescape has to offer and not get attacked. Granted there are some places in every world where you can attack or be attacked by others but you have to knowingly go into them.
